Since the tragedies of September 11, 2001 and Hurricane Katrina, everyone understands the necessity of working together to prepare for, respond to, and minimize the affects of disasters or emergencies, be they man made or natual.
The Milwaukee County VOAD council is a collaboration of many national, state and local organizations. We are a network of volunteer and civic orgainzations dedicated to providing preparedness, response and recovery. The Milwaukee County VOAD council has the support and cooperation of Milwaukee County Emergency Management, the State of Wisconsin's Emergency Management Agency and FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The Milwaukee County VOAD council is seeking agencies or organizations with a wide variety of specilized knowledge or resources which may benefit Milwaukee County residents in times of disasters. Chances are, if a disaster were to strike, you would respond. Therefore, we encourage you to discuss the possibility of membership in VOAD. By joining, you would become an involved link in the relief and recovery chain.
